In 1990, Master Ott became an innocent victim of a violent crime and as a result he lost his ability to taste, smell and see with his eyes.  Having already been studying martial arts for over 20 years at that point in his life he quickly stood back up and moved on in life.  He began his training in Sinmoo Hapkido shortly thereafter and teaches unique training exercises he calls "touch to touch and black on black," that he has refined with the guidance of Dojunim Ji, Han Jae. Master Ott recently had his biography published titled, Certain Victory. Master Ott often shares with others “Seeing is believing but for a true Martial Artist believing is seeing!"
